fungal disease resistance
An isolation distance of 40 m from each other potato field combined with a maize border of 4 rows will be guaranteed to reduce the risk of transgene transfer by pollen. Also the destruction of transgenic and non-transgenic material will be guaranteed. Foliage of the plants will be killed before the tubers are dugged up. The tubers are transported in closed containers.
The period of monitoring will be expanded to one year after the observation of the last volunteer. During that period potato will not be allowed as a follow-up cultivar.
Authorization procedure completed. The notifier was granted authorization from the Federal Minister to perform the trial.
For the cultivation of the next cultivar the soil of the trial can not be ploughed, so the remaining potatoes stay at the surface and are destroyed by the frost or as volunteer plants in the follow-up cultivar. All the operations conducted during the trial will be recorded in a logbook.
