26 May 2008: The Federal Ministers give a negative decision for this field trial.
23 December 2008: The Council of State (Belgium) suspends the negative decision of the Federal Ministers.
3 February 2009: The Belgian Biosafety Advisory Council issues an advice concerning a research protocol on environmental risk proposed by the VIB as a follow-up of the request for field trial with GM grey poplars (notification B/BE/07/V2).
17 February 2009: The Federal Ministers finally give a final positive decision with conditions for this field trial.
4 February 2016: Advice of the Belgian Biosafety Advisory Council on the request from VIB to change the authorisation conditions concerning the notification B/BE/07/V2 for deliberate release in the environment of genetically modified poplars with an altered wood composition for research and development
